About conversion (pixel) tracking

Peacock Ad Manager enables you to track the performance of your Connected TV campaigns. This advanced reporting feature is powered by website tracking pixels, which measure how often users take certain actions on your website. You can track a variety of user actions depending on your goals. To optimize your campaign, we recommend creating and implementing as many website pixels as possible.

What is a website tracking pixel?

A website tracking pixel is an HTML code snippet embedded into a webpage that captures key information about user activity. Although it's nearly invisible to users, it contains a tag that tracks user behavior such as pages visited, actions taken, and purchase history.

When a user visits a website using website tracking pixels, the HTML code is processed by the user’s browser. The browser follows the instructions in the code snippet to record user information and the actions users take on the page.

Website tracking pixels are not the same as the creative tracking tags added directly to your creative to track impressions and clicks for digital marketing campaigns.

Conversion pixels in Peacock Ad Manager

You can choose which conversion events to track depending on your goals. Install pixels via a tag manager or install them directly on your website. See Install Tracking Pixels for instructions.

Peacock Ad Manager supports tracking pixels for the following user actions/conversion events:

  • Complete purchase

  • Complete registration

  • Lead generated

  • Viewed product

You’ll need to install the universal tracking pixel regardless of which other tracking pixels you’re using.

Image tracking pixels

In most cases, you can implement tracking pixels on your own using the materials in this guide. However, if you want to implement an image pixel (most often used on buttons and speed up page load because they don’t allow other pixels or code to be added on the backend), please contact your NBCUniversal account representative for help.
